we are traveling to Walt Disney World in June. We are thinking of staying at Port Orleans Riverside, there are 5 of us two adults and 3 children. Has anybody stayed there and what did you think?

Welcome to mt
I have not personally stayed at Riverside also. Just wanted to welcome you to the boards.

I have dined at Riverside before and Boatwright
s Dining Hall is a great location. Got to eat there once. You will enjoy it.

We stayed at Riverside last year. We've been to WDW 5 times, and this was my favorite resort by far. The grounds are beautiful, and the boat to Downtown Disney is great.
To my knowledge, Riverside is the only resort with trundle beds, which help a lot when you have three kids like we do. I highly recommend this resort!

I know I'm jumping in here late (but I'm new - so I get a break...don't I?). We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside at least 15 times, including our honeymoon and every anniversary. We've even switched from the Wilderness Lodge to POR. We LOVE P.O.R. Since Port Orleans and Dixie Landings merged, I would absolutely recommend Riverside over the French Quarter. They are different hotels, IMO. Just decide if you want the Alligator Bayou side or the Mansion style. AB is rustic and Mansion is very green - flowery landscaping with glossy white buildings.
