| | | This ever happen to you? ( long post) | Fri May 02, 2008 1:05 am by MouseTyme | The night before last, I was baking supper. I made a great chicken dish, in a pyrex baking dish. I opened the over to check on it and it suddenly exploded. Lucky it didn't spread out far enough to hurt me, while I was running.
Needless to say supper wasn't any good for consumption. I closed the door. And cleaned the floor of glass shards. With a low riding dog like radar, I got nervous. I vacummed, swept and used a damp mop, to make sure I had all the pieces.
Good part was we went out to eat. Although with all the work I had to do that night and yesterday, didn't seem to make me enjoy a night out.
I decided to NOT clean the oven until yesterday. That was a joy. Certainly makng sure ALL the glass is out of every nook and cranny isn't easy. I feel I did get it all. Like the floor I vacummed and used damp paper, hoping the glass would cling to it, a cloth would have to be rinsed and rung out. This included the pan tray under the oven, and the baking dishes in it. I ended with doing the clean cycle after I was sure everything was out. Took me almost all day.
Anyway, I have had these pyrex dishes for many years, I will never use the remaining ones. I'll get the good old metal.
